What does it mean when a review is marked "allergy-safe"?
It means the reviewer, who shares your allergy, personally had that dish without a reaction. It reflects one person's real experience — not a certified guarantee, lab test, or professional verification. Always confirm directly with restaurant staff about ingredients and cross-contamination before ordering, especially for severe allergies.
How do I set up my allergy profile?
During onboarding, or anytime from Profile > Allergy Profile, select your allergies, intolerances, or dietary needs. LibreAte uses this to highlight relevant reviews and information as you browse.
Can I manage allergies for my kids or family?
Yes. Go to Profile > Allergy Profile > Add Profile to create separate profiles (like "My Kid" or "Partner"), and switch between them anytime.
What should I do if I have a severe allergic reaction?
LibreAte is a community review app, not a medical service. If you're experiencing a severe reaction, use your prescribed emergency medication (such as an EpiPen) if you have one, and seek medical assistance immediately. Don't rely on the app in an emergency.
Does LibreAte verify restaurants are actually safe for my allergy?
No. LibreAte is built entirely on real reviews from our community — we don't independently test, inspect, or certify any restaurant. Reviews are a helpful starting point based on real experiences, but always confirm directly with staff before ordering.
How do I reset my password?
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and follow the instructions sent to your email.
How do I delete my account?
See Deleting Your Account below.
How do I manage or cancel my Premium subscription?
Go to Profile > Manage Subscription. This opens your device's native subscription settings (Apple or Google), where you can view, change, or cancel your plan at any time.
How do I report inaccurate information or inappropriate content?
On any review or comment, use the "Report" option in the menu. Our team reviews every report.
How do I claim my business listing?
Open your business's page in LibreAte and tap "Claim this business" to begin verification.
I found a bug or have a suggestion.
We'd love to hear from you — email us at support@libreateapp.com with as much detail as you can share.
You can delete your LibreAte account at any time. You don't need to contact us first, and you don't need to give a reason.
Delete it in the app
Go to Profile > App Settings > Account & Data > Delete Account, then confirm. This takes effect immediately.
You'll be asked to choose one of two options:
We offer the second option because allergy reviews help other people decide where it's safe to eat. It's entirely your choice — "Delete everything" removes your reviews as well.
Don't have the app installed, or can't sign in?
Email us and we'll delete your account for you. Send your request from the email address linked to your LibreAte account so we can confirm it's you, and let us know whether you'd like your reviews deleted as well or kept anonymously. If you don't say, we'll delete everything.
Request account deletion:
support@libreateapp.comWe'll confirm by email once your account has been deleted. Email requests are processed within 30 days.
What gets deleted
Your account and login details, your name, email address and profile photo, your allergy profiles, any EpiPen details you saved, your saved places, collections and pinned reviews, and your reviews and review photos — unless you chose to keep them anonymously.
What we keep, and why
Reviews you chose to keep anonymously stay on LibreAte with no link to you. We also keep records we're legally required to retain, such as transaction records for any subscription you purchased, and only for as long as the law requires.
Important if you have a Premium subscription
Deleting your LibreAte account does not automatically cancel your subscription, because subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google rather than by us. Cancel it first in your device's subscription settings (see "How do I manage or cancel my Premium subscription?" above). If you delete your account without cancelling first, you may continue to be charged.
